Natural
Acne
Cures
Today every form of acne can be treated but remember that acne
treatment takes time and what works for one may not work for another. In very severe cases the help of a
dermatologist may be required. However, there are natural cures for acne which are as successful as the over
the counter treatments.
Acne is the term which covers pimples, plugged pores (blackheads and whiteheads), pimples, and
even deeper lumps (cysts or nodules) that occur on the face, neck, chest, back, shoulders and even the upper
arms.

Acne affects most teenagers to some extent. However,
the disease is not restricted to any age group; adults in their 20s - even into their 40s - can get
acne. While not a life threatening condition, acne can be upsetting
and disfiguring.
Acne affects women and men equally but it is likely to last longer in
young men.
Home acne treatment can consist
of gently washing the affected area and treating with an over the counter acne treatment that
contains an astringent agent like salicyclic
acid.
More severe cases may require acne treatment
prescribed by a dermatologist and these acne treatments may include
topical antimicrobials (antibiotics) and retinoids (vitamin A derived
treatments).
There are a number of myths about acne:
-
Acne is not
caused by poor skin hygiene and vigorously scrubbing your skin may in fact further irritate the
affected skin and make it
worse.
-
Acne is not caused by poor diet. A balanced diet is recommended
but many studies have proven that there is no connection between diet and
acne.
-
All acne is
treatable and you do not have to let acne “run its course”.
